UNDESA Empowering Seychelles to Mobilize Sustainable Financing

The UN Resident Coordinator for Mauritius and Seychelles provided remote opening remarks for the launch of the Integrated National Financing Frameworks (INFF) Training Workshop on 4 February 2025 in Seychelles. This transformative initiative, led by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) under the Financing for Small Island Developing States (FINS) project aims to support Seychelles in reaching its sustainable development goals (SDGs).
Small Island Developing States (SIDS) like Seychelles are tackling economic vulnerabilities, climate change impacts, and limited access to affordable financing. Mobilizing sustainable financing is critical for their national development priorities. The INFF framework helps Seychelles map all potential sources of financing—domestic, international, public, and private—to align resources with national priorities. It operates through four key pillars:
